Playing a Online Team Battle with a friend. After I joined a game he was in. He doesn’t have Wii Speak. So he couldn’t reply back to me. Even though he could hear me.

Classic Game Room HD reviews THE QUEST, a 3D RPG adventure game for the iPod which is like 1980’s PC role playing games! DOPE! Published by Chillingo (same folks who published iDracula) and produced by Redshift, THE QUEST is a 5 1/4″ floppy disc style masterpiece. Create your stereotypical RPG character, give them a name, choose from a variety of races, strap on some armor and weapons and then accept quests. Slaughter robbers, amazons, ogres, cyclops and skeletons. This game is friggin’ hype. This CGRHD review of THE QUEST on iPod has gameplay footage recorded in HD from iPod Touch, The QUEST playes on iPhone and iPod Touch and is available for download from iTunes for a modest fee. The Classic Game Room character is ZAXZON and he’s an undead who wants to massacre monsters, drink mash rum and beer and hook up with ladies. And you know what… it can all be done in The Quest. Fans of 1980’s role playing games like Bard’s Tale and Ultima will relish this game while younger gamers should find a compelling and complex game contained within your little iPod. Remember when we’d crash 286 computers with monster games like this that stretched across 5 floppy discs??? The iPod is awesome and the Quest is perfectly suited for it. Beware, it will suck your life away as you level up your character and drain the iPod battery in record time crunching all of the weather effects and 3D rendering. Whatever, QUEST-ahoy! Classic Game Room HD reviews iPod Touch and iPhone games as an independently non-certified iPod reviewer reviewing iPod and iPhone games with award spinning journalistic style. The Quest is a 3D RPG app video game for iPod. Watch this review for a review of the game, see the map of the game and check out Zaxzon.

I cannot begin to stress how potentially groundbreaking this technology is. I have always stated, that motion controls for gaming, no matter what tech you used to derive your motion control, was a complete dead end for gaming, unless someone developed a revolutionary method to make it essential for gaming. To date, I have been proven 100% right in this case. Extremely few games have worked well with motion controls. And quite honestly, Milo represents the first true ‘killer ap’ in the world for the case that motion control may be the future of video games.

The unprecedented potential that Milo represents, right out of the gate, is a complete and total re-invention of the RPG and adventure game genres. Games like Shenmue, Mass Effect, Alpha Protocol, Yakuza, Fallout, Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, Omikron, etc. . . . adventure games and RPGs that heavily depend on social interaction with in-game NPCs to advance in the game, would be completely and forever revolutionized using Project Natal and the Milo API.

What is an even greater portent of things to come for RPGs and adventure games, is the fact that Peter Molyneux and his team at Lionhead Studios, an RPG-centric game studio, are the ones developing the Milo API in the first place. And if that was not awesome enough for you, consider this. At a recent private play thru of Milo, it was revealed to Joystiq, that Lionhead would indeed be including Milo in a real game to see release around the same time as the Project Natal launch. Still no official date on Project Natal’s release, however judging by the polished state of Milo, I’d say definitely sometime in the next 12 to 18 months. Putting it firmly sometime within the 2009 – 2010 calender years.

[RMVX] My RPG Maker VX Game Project – Grass Cutting with events after reading tutorials

Creative idea for an RPG Game, no? :P . Another battle test for the game Ethereal Memory. Justdont ask. The game will now contain humour! Bahahahaha. Introducing new characters, Jennifer, Bella and Lanarra. More details about them will follow as more videos are released.

For more information check out my web blog at

http://www.video-games-design.com

An idea I had for my RPG Maker VX game. The potion shop plans to be playing a major role as the game progresses. Ive not quite pieced all the puzzles together just yet, but it should be great when its done. Did I make you jump at the sudden screaming sound effect? :P . New characters in this video I think would be the mysterious Verenroth, the owner of the potion shop.

Unforgettable games! This movie is a tribute to all the classic Sierra On-Line games and also to EVERY person from Sierra who helped bring us these games.

A few people have asked me who all the faces were at the end of the video (I wish I had included their names in the video along with their pictures). In order of appearance after Ken and Roberta: Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe (“Space Quest” designers, as the Two Guys from Andromeda), Al Lowe (creator of “Leisure Suit Larry”), Christy Marx (“Conquests of Camelot” and “Conquests of the Longbow” designer, beautifully rendered holding Excalibur on the cover of “Sierra Magazine”), Lori and Corey Cole (creators of the “Quest for Glory” series), Josh Mandel (“Freddy Pharkas” co-designer, who also contributed to a wide variety of Sierra On Line products), Mark Seibert (musician and composer of some of Sierra’s most famous themes) and Jane Jensen (best known as the designer of the Gabriel Knight series). Of course, so many other wonderfully talented and hardworking people from Sierra no doubt also deserve recognition for their work in providing us with such great entertainment over the years. I also wish I had been able to include all of them in this video. Finally, someone mentioned that the end of the video seems a bit random with magazine and game box covers, but that run-through is just to show the incredibly prolific nature of Sierra and its evolving and consistently top quality products over nearly 20 years.

Space Quest
Leisure Suit Larry
Police Quest
Quest for Glory
Gabriel Knight

Julian Dibbell (author of Play Money and My Tiny Life)
“Play Money: Gold Farms, Polar Bear Rugs, and the World-Historical Relevance of Game Studies”

Julian Dibbell, author of My Tiny Life: Crime and Passion in a Virtual World and Play Money: Or How I Quit My Day Job and Made Millions Trading Virtual Loot, argues for a game studies that goes beyond traditional cultural and media theories — into the realms of political economy, social history, and computer science — in search of the emerging significance of computer games. Drawing on examples from his own experience in the “real-money trading” markets and other provocative social phenomena found in and around World of Warcraft, Ultima Online, and other massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), Dibbell leans hard on the best contemporary and historical thinking about games to urge game studies toward the broadest vision possible of its subject.
