This is a new experimental segment where I will take an online match and provide commentary on it, both explaining decisions and dissecting mistakes. Ever spectated a game only to wonder what must be going through the player’s mind? Well this is sort of like that. I hope that this provides you with some useful insight. Let me know if you’d enjoy seeing more of these with different maps and gametypes.

It is just a test …
It is just a test map I built for my own purposes, I wouldn’t really care to distribute it to be honest, but it is really simple to build in unrealed. all you basically need to build is a wall with a hole subtracted through it. If you are desperate for it though pm me your email and I will try to send it over later.

    yea that’s what I …
yea that’s what I meant xD.

Oh btw another question what’s the name of the cat burglar jump map in the end it looks fairly basic white map and you cat burglar jump into the window would like to have it to test the catjump.

    Thanks. I suppose …
Thanks. I suppose you must mean you prefer playing WITH invisible weapons.

I have different profiles, and some use invis weap and some don’t. Personally I am used to both and it doesn’t affect my playing much. For the purposes of making videos geared to new players, I would say it is better to show the weapon, because new players would otherwise have a difficult time grasping what I am doing.

    Really nice guide …
Really nice guide indeed.I’m a warfare player also.Good job in cicada too most people underestimate the 2ndary gun wich is a great way to deal with raptors that fly lower then you.

Only remark i have on this is that i always like playing without invisible weapons myself, wich gives me a clearer view of my surroundings but thats just personal taste.

    Thanks. :)

    I …
    Thanks. :)

I guess it comes with experience carried over from UT2004 Onslaught. When I played in ladders we were forced to think hard about strategy including what to do at the beginning of the game. Often the first minute of the game makes or breaks it. And then once you get to their prime you have to know what to do to hold it. It’s more difficult in Warfare because of the Orb but the principles are more or less the same. I’d rather focus on node strategy than dick around in a manta.

    VoxHouse, I have to …
VoxHouse, I have to say, you are absolutely my favorite UT3 player. Everything you do carries with it a strategic and/or tactical weight and is done for very direct and specific reasons. Like in Chess, every move you make is geared towards checkmating the enemy prime, rather than taking it at small steps. Very impressive.

    Exactly :)

    Loving …
    Exactly :)

Loving these videos so far. Learning new stuff from them already (for example I always held down fire for the enforcer before).

  • VoxHouseStudio says:

    Well yes it’s …
Well yes it’s intentional, to me just spamming the spawn points directly would be boring and not a challenge at all. They had a chance to fight back, which makes things more interesting.

  • delbitersoup says:

    Even with him …
Even with him attacking the enemy base while the enemy-prime isn’t captured, he isn’t really spawn-killing. He is mostly attacking around the spawn areas but not spamming the spawn-points themselves.

Not sure if that was intentional (hoping it was). Why should you not just spam the spawn points? Because the more you do it, the more it’ll be done to you and it becomes old very fast when you can’t spawn. In the end it’s about having fun, for both teams.

    Just my “two cents”.

very nice video, gives a lot of insight in playing warfare seriously, not rushing

    Right, there are …
Right, there are plenty of things I could have done differently if I was only focused on winning in the quickest possible time. I wanted to play an average game and show what a player could do to help his team. There are countless other ways Torlan can be played :)

  • akaSova says:

    And when enemy team …
And when enemy team was much stronger and i had 1 guy, who understood my tactics (i was shouting to microphone, so he knew english seems :D ), we hold our prime for more, than 20 minutes. While he was teleporting/dying i was flying back, pickup the orb again and going for prime to recapture it :) teamwork is very important!

  • akaSova says:

    you should use …
you should use raptor more wisely. Leaving orb carrier to get to the node by his own is a big mistake. What i do every game in torlan when i have raptor and no other n00b took it before me is lifting up an orb carrier and putting it right into the node you want to capture. then the guy who had orb teleports back and you come back with raptor and you do same actions over again. If your team helps you to hold captured nodes you are able to win the enemy in 1 minute, if it is weak enough.

Can you also do one …
Can you also do one for Downtown, Avalanche, and Floodgate?

  • Makron5 says:

    Also, a good video. …
Also, a good video. By watching you give a break down it helps to understand warfare and what a player of higher skill is thinking as they play.

  • Makron5 says:

    Doesn’t the Orb …
Doesn’t the Orb also heal nodes as well as make them invulnerable?
